When Alan, a successful writer for television, moves his family to Ojai, he realizes that his neighbors are not the stereotypical posh East End residents. In fact, they are the opposite. Prone to accidental violence and marijuana use, the "Bums" have decided to make a documentary about their lives. Alan watches from the sidelines until fate makes him an integral part of the story.
